Festa Intrudu, Portuguese Settlement, Melaka

Last CNY we went to Portuguese Settlement to participate in the Festa Intrudu or the Water Festival. The Festa started a day before with feast given by our Portuguese friends. The stage were playing branyo songs (like joget) and there were constantly people dancing there. The next day, the dowsing ritual started at 8am. Nobody was spared. Even passers by were drenched with water, cold water, ice water and some even throw coca cola and liquor - but of course they are mindful of who they throw it to.
The water throwing finished at 12noon and then most people went to the stage to dance branyo. Lunch was served at the back of the stage and I ate devil curry chicken and bread.
At about 2pm, a group of youngsters hop on a truck and went from house to house collecting men wearing woman's dresses. They went over to a field and have a football match there.
Branyo continues that night at 8pm and the celebration carried out until the wee hours of the morning.

I Danced With A Cuban Pop Singer!!

Last night I went to Auntie Lin's and Uncle Lim's birthday which was held at a posh diner in Bangsar. She invited some very important people and celebrities and one of them was this pop singer from Cuba. He sang some very nice Spanish songs and then he saw me... he couldn't resist but ask me to dance afterwards!!
Me, all primped up to go to the birthday party. The princess tiara and wings are courtesy of Aunties Sabrina, Mieke, Ruth and Wenny. I got them all for my birtday a month ago, along with the wand, high heels, gloves and jewelleries.

Pipin & Zarifs' Birthday in Rumah Anak Yatim Klang
|
|
Last Sunday, Pipin celebrated her birthday again, this time with Zarif who also turned 4 on March 14th. We decided to have in the Rumah Anak Yatim Klang and to share the happy occasion with the rest of the kids in that home. We were given a VIP treatment and Pipin and Zarif really enjoyed the whole occasion.
The children at the home were segregated according to their gender due to obvious reasons. We had the good fortune of having the Chairman of the home around and he gave a moving speech about being thankful for Allah's gift and to stay focus on studies and motivated the kids to be better with each day. The children ages from 7-18 were all present on that day and we were so happy that we got that opportunity to be with them. After the speech, the Chairman recited doa selamat and it was heartwarming to see everybody offering prayers for the well being of the 2 birthday kidz. The cake was brought out afterwards and while we were busy setting up, the children were entertained by Pipin & Zarif's antics, which unfortunately wasn't caught on picture.
The cake has Ultraman and Pocoyo on it, both boy characters... Pipin loves Pocoyo very very much. Not a day goes by without she watching Pocoyo, Annie and Patto!
Before blowing the candles, the birthday kidz had to wait for the song to finish, 2 birthday songs mind you.. to 2 fouryear olds, that's too much time!

Today is Pipin's 4th Birthday. We decided to celebrate it at her Smart Reader with her friends, seeing that it is a school day. She was thrilled to see us with the cupcakes. She normally sings the song to imaginary birthday but today dia dapat nyanyi untuk diri dia.

Sunway Pyramid

On Sunday, rasa boring duduk rumah, so me and mama went out to Sunway Pyramid to check out the place. We have been there twice and we normally ended up in the Popular Bookstore. We can spend hours and hours there. I would say Sunway has the best Xmas decorations compared to the rest of the malls, including the decors leading to Sunway hotel. As usual the ever ready model posed at the strategic places. The new foyer had a big winter kampung for people who wants to take Xmas pictures. Ada train and candy shops. After taking pics, we went to Roma's to eat hmmmm... yum yum. Before going home the good people of Roma's played with me and took pictures! Notice I had the TGIF baloon instead of the Roma's ...

The Wedding Season

Tis the season to be merry and married. We were invited to numerous weddings but last weekend was special. Our cousin, Ina got married to her handsome husband. We had a grand time posing for the cameras, albeit not many with the bride groom! The wedding was held at Batang Kali and the weather was splendid. Even Atuk came along. After lunch, we were lounging like big snakes and later decided to go home, before we fall asleep.

Today we decided to go jalan-jalan in the newest Jaya Jusco. Mama is wondering, where people going to get money to buy these things in the mall because now there are just too many shopping malls around. This Jaya Jusco is very very very big and has many many shops, some which is not operational yet. So big that you can visit a few 'countries' in one place. There are some Japanese food promotion in the concourse area, so we took pictures there. Then there is this bigggg Christmas tree dekat Maybank, we took pics lagi. We saw that this mall invited some of the Princesses from Disney movie, so we took pics with them too. We shop a little, makan a little and jalan banyak2. Mama found a shop that sells 3 baju for RM20 on 2nd floor, export market. Seronoknya... kita semua dapat top baru!!!

Every year, we will make our customary journey to Auntie Lin's house for her Hari Raya gathering. This year she invited quite a few people and one of them is Uncle James. He has this neat cam with him and asked the kids to post... and thats exactly what I was doing here..
